OPEN FACED MEAT LOAF SANDWICHES OPEN FACED MEAT LOAF SANDWICHES   

IngredientsIngredients  
  • 1 lb ground chuck
  • 1/3 c chopped green pepper
  • 1/3 c soft bread crumbs
  • 1/4 c skim milk
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp reduced calorie catsup
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt or Papa Dash
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • Vegetable cooking spray
  • 1 (8 oz) can no salt added tomato sauce
  • 1/4 tsp dried whole oregano
  • 1/4 tsp dried whole marjoram
  • 6 (1/2 inch thick) slices Italian bread, toasted

InstructionsInstructions  1. Combine first 10 ingredients in a medium bowl; stir well.
2. Spoon mixture into a 7 1/2 x 3 x 2 inch loaf pan that has been coated with cooking spray.
3. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
4. Cool in pan 5 minutes.
5. Remove from pan; drain well on paper towels.
6. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting into 1 inch slices.
Combine tomato sauce, oregano, and marjoram in a small saucepan.
7. Bring mixture to a boil.
8. Cover; reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
9. Place toasted bread slices on serving platter.
10. Top each slice with a meatloaf slice.
11. Spoon 2 tablespoon tomato sauce over each sandwich.
